5QUESTIONS: ALPINES

Back in July we told you about our love for South-London electro duo Alpines (aka Catherine Pockson and Bob Matthews) and their excellent video for Cocoon (below). Well we haven't stopped listening to them since, and now they've kindly agreed to answer our famous 5Questions. Readysetgo!

1. Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Brian Eno, to try and do ambient pop. Or Kanye, because it would be great to hear his raps on our tunes.

2. What's the last book you read + give us 3 words to describe it.

Just Kids by Patti Smith. Nostalgic, artistic, heartbreaking.

3. Best advice you've ever been given?

Bob - "Life is the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come"

Catherine - "You know yourself best"

4. What are you doing this weekend?

Seeing a great new band called Citizens on Friday, and playing a show on Saturday.

5. Recommend your favourite bar in the world.

The Boaters Inn, near where we grew up in Kingston. It's right over the River Thames. It's unpretentious and does great food, ales and a quiz. Second place would have to be The Antelope in Tooting Broadway, for the same reasons, although it's not next to a river.
