OLD ADS
Perfume ads have certainly come a long way over the past thirty years. Here's a few of our favourite old-school spots that we've managed to track down on YouTube.

PRINT V DIGITAL
If you were in any doubt as to the future generation's preference when it comes to print vs digital, have a look at the video below for some interesting insight... We think it's a fairly strong argument for the publishing world to plunge head first into digital content.

IT'S THE 90s !
Let's take little stroll down memory lane on this sunny Friday afternoon in London. Remember the 90s?

CHATBOT
Here's one for the techno geeks - artificial intelligence robots have held a conversation with one another for the first time with surprising and surreal results...
Two graduate PhD students from Cornell University gave voices and 2D avatars to a pair of online chatbots, named Alan and Sruthi. Here's what happened when they left the robots to converse.
"I am not a robot, I am a unicorn" is our new favourite thing to say, by the way (get the T-shirt). And if you're entirely confused by what you've just seen, head here for more info.

FRIDAY FUN: RUBE GOLDBERG
Rube Goldberg machine vids on YouTube are nothing new (click here if you have no idea what we're talking about), but this one really caught our eye.
The photography theme is a nice touch, but it's the sheer endlessness that's got us baffled. We dread to think how many hours/days/weeks this must have taken to get one good take...

THE SCALE OF THE UNIVERSE

BAD APPLE
China doesn't have the best rep when it comes to respecting intellectual property rights, but this latest instance feels particularly cheeky: a very convincing fake Apple store was found in Kunming City, China. Complete with exact replica branding, merchandising, wooden work stations, & hipster Genius staff - even the store's employees thought it was the real thing.
On closer inspection, blogger BirdAbroad noticed the cracks in this near-perfect rip-off (pictured above) and blew the whistle. Angry customers have since been lining up to get their purchases refunded, and just today, the store was shut down by officials. It's believed this is just one of many fake Apple stores around the world.

FRIDAY FUN: DEAR SAINSBURY'S
This is most likely the work of an imaginative PR, but sweet none-the-less. A little girl's letter to supermarket chain Sainsbury's, and their letter back to her.

MODERN TOSS
This weekend see Brighton's Ink_d Gallery host an exhibit of Modern Toss (aka writers & cartoonists Jon Kink and Mick Bunnage)'s unique brand of dry wit. Their colourful and frankly very naughty work includes prints, postcards, tea towels and even clothing. Look out for their Kate & Wills-inspired "Royal Shitnacks"...

ROLLING IN THE XX
This has been doing the rounds since January, but we never posted it, so now we are. Jamie XX remixes Adele's Rolling in the Deep, the result is haunting & wonderful. Happy Friday.
