DALSTON SUPERSTARS

You can always rely on Vice to rip seven shades of piss out of... well, just about everyone, really. Here is their delightful faux-reality series Dalston Superstars, which "gives a fresh look at the lives of 5 young creatives from London's coolest hangout, Dalston."

STICKS + STONES

This is definitely not a post about Cher Lloyd. It is a post about a fairly cool promotion concept for her new album, whereby a custom-spray-painted billboard located in the heart of East London was created & filmed in this crafty little timelapse video below. (Definitely not about Cher Lloyd).

HOME-GROWN: HOWARD GREENHALGH FOR PANASONIC

Whoop whoop. Check out our very own Howard Greenhalgh's brand new ad for Panasonic's award winning Smart Viera range of high-definition televisions.

The brand is an official worldwide partner of the London 2012 Olympic games, hence the athlete doing some rather impressive gymnastics on top of a giant telly. Or is it her that's very small? We're not sure. Either way - we love it.

KINA GRANNIS

Who fancies some Jelly Beans for breakfast on this fine Tuesday morning? Singer Kina Grannis' video for brand new single In Your Arms is a pretty impressive stop-motion masterpiece, which took 22 months, 1357 hours, 30 people, 2 ladders, 1 still camera and over a quarter of a million Jelly Beans to make.

Check out the promo below, and the making-of below below. Nice.

AB FAB THE MOVIE

It's just been confirmed that cult Brit TV comedy Absolutely Fabulous is heading for the big screen. Jennifer Saunders' sitcom about two drunken middle-aged women in the media industry is not only enjoying a revival on the small screen, with a new TV special on the way, but now the head BBC Films Christine Langan has announced that a film is definitely going ahead.

Says Saunders "We thought it would be hilarious if Patsy and Edina went to a party on an oligarch's yacht, got drunk, fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the ocean. Everyone else has left, and the ship has been moved on." And there you have it. (quote source: nme)

THE REAL DA VINCI

The National Gallery's curator has recently admitted that their latest Leonardo da Vinci exhibition, which opens on Wednesday 9th November in London, was conceived in part to dispel author Dan Brown's mystical claims in his bestseller, The Da Vinci Code.

In an attempt to counter the consequences of the book's misrepresentation of one of Western art's most influential artists, Luke Syson states "It was important for us to provide a sensible corrective to Brown's heretical Leonardo. It will be interesting to see whether our interpretation will trigger people's imaginations". (quote source: telegraph) Head here for more info on the exhibit.

THE VERY BEST OF VERSACE FOR H&M

Check out this bonkers but beautiful video from The Very Best of Versace for H&M (which we first told you about here). The collection is out on November 17th, and the ad was directed by long time H&M collaborator Johan Renck.

We've also got our hands on some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot in London. Excellent.

NETFLIX IS COMING

American provider of on-demand internet streaming media Netflix are said to be in advanced talks with ITV, upon their imminent UK & Ireland launch.

Potentially taking on current home entertainment competitors Sky, BT Vision, Virgin Media and Lovefilm, Netflix are said to have already agreed UK film rights deals with studios MGM, Lionsgate, Momentum & Warner Brothers.

Looking beyond film, they are now in talks with ITV (after negotiations with Channel 4 stalled earlier this year), in order to gain access to the terrestrial broadcaster's enormous catalogue of television content. Watch this space...

GOTHAM UNDER ATTACK

Check out this awesome video from the New York shoot of The Dark Knight Rises, where Gotham police come under attach in Christopher Nolan's much-anticipated final Batman film.

We've also come across on-set pictures of Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway & Tom Hardy doing their thing (above & below) - cannot wait for this to come out.

THE VOID

It's music vid crush of the day-o-clock, and this time we are <3ing Danish duo Darkness Falls and their new single The Void. The track is taken from their album Alive In Us (pictured above), and its moody promo was shot in Copenhagen by director Katja Boom Philip.

BRAND USA

Ever wondered how an entire nation goes about rebranding itself? Well, wonder no more. Head over to Brand Republic for a very interesting yet slightly bizarre account of how America is planning to give itself a brand refresh, via a new tourism body called Brand USA.

IF YOU LEAVE

Photographer Laurence Von Thomas had a simple idea: launch a photography blog, set an overall theme of peace & solitude, take open submissions from photographers from all over the world, and publish the best shots.

The blog, If You Leave, has been running since 2009 and is a runaway hit. So much so that Von Thomas is now launching his second book of selected works from the site, featuring photographs from over 250 international artists. (Find out where to buy it here)

Very little info is given about the work submitted or the creative minds behind it, which ads a welcome air of intrigue to the project. Check out our selection of excerpts from the book above & below, and make sure to visit the blog regularly for new work.

SKYFALL

The title of the new and 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, has been revealed today at a press conference in London with director Sam Mendes and the cast of the film.

Daniel Craig (above) will reprise the title part for the 3rd time, Javier Bardem (also above) and Ralph Fiennes will play the baddies, and Berenice Marlohe & Naomie Harris (who we love) will play Bond girls Severin and Eve. Check out the announcement from producer Michael G Wilson below:

WONDELREY

Let's have a look at some nice pictures of Lana Del Rey from this month's brand new Wonderland magazine (out now), as shot by the marvellous Aj Numan. Lovely.

LIONESS

Two previously unheard songs recorded by Amy Winehouse premiered on Radio 1 today. We're never too sure about posthumously released material from beloved artists, but this is happening regardless, so let's have a listen & decide whether it's any good.

The tracks are called Like Smoke (which features Nas) and Our Day Will Come, and are both taken from Wino's upcoming LP, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, which will be released on the 5th of December. Listen to Like Smoke here.

There's no denying her voice isn't at its best, and that the rapper's extended input feels like a filler, but the melody is pleasant, and the production more than able. Overall we're not entirely sold; the jury is still out as to whether unreleased material should remain.. unreleased.

JAMIE CHILDS: LAMIA

Mega props to our latest recruit, the very talented Jamie Childs, who worked as a producer on this stunning short film (below) entitled LAMIA, which was completed as part of the Smoke and Mirrors 48 hour film competition.

Although Jamie is very much focussed on developing his reel as a director, it is truly inspiring to see him add yet another string to his bow.

HOME-GROWN: STACY PERALTA WINS ISF AWARD

Congrats are in order for our very own Stacy Peralta, who took home the Classic Award at last week's International Skateboard Film Festival in Los Angeles, honouring him for his legendary contribution and influence on the industry. Head here for more details and for a full list of winners.

Let's have another look at his iconic Bones Brigade show, which is where it all began for Mr Peralta, back in 1984:

BABY SAYS

Todays' music vid crush is a trannylicious affair that comes from US & UK rocker duo Alison Mosshart & Jamie Hince, aka "VV" and "Hotel", aka The Kills. The promo is directed by Ben Crook, and the single is taken from the band's 4th studio album, Blood Pressures (pictured above), which you can get here.

HALLOWEEN

You've got to hand to Heidi Klum (above); that girl takes Halloween very seriously. There's almost no point showing you other celebs' poor efforts in comparison, but we're going to anyway.

In order: Peter Serafinowicz as Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, Jimmy Carr as... we're not too sure, Gwen Stefani as Cinderella, Alexa Chung as a lamb, Nicole Ritchie as JLo, Nicola Formichetti as some kind of zombie panda, Amber Rose as Slash, Fergie as... a beauty queen?, Simon Pegg as a skeleton man, and Kelly Brook with a couple of buff dudes as the cast of Twilight. Truly horrific. Happy Halloween!
