1981 & +

Fans of hip hop and lovely readers from Paris, read on. An exhibition of photographer Sophie Bramly's images of the early 80s hip-hop scene opens on 17th June at the galerie 12MAIL

Bramly (who produced the popular show Yo! MTV Raps) was one of the first to be interested in hip hop's beginnings in the Bronx. Her powerful pictures show many of the rap pioneers of that era, such as Afrika Bambaataa, Fab Five Freddy, The Beastie Boys, Futura 2000, Kurtis Blow and Crazy Legs.

Her collection of unseen images will also be the subject of a limited edition book, also entitled "1981 & +".
