The British Fashion Council (in collaboration with TopShop) have announced the winners of their NEWGEN scheme. Established in 1993, NEWGEN is recognised worldwide as a launch-pad for British designers - a bit like New York's CFDA awards - and basically provides sponsorship (aka money) for the young designers' Spring/Summer 2012 shows & presentations.
Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Christopher Kane & Giles Deacon have all won the title in the past, so this year's winners should be fairly chuffed with themselves. They are:

MICHAEL VAN DER HAM
