It was announced yesterday that Woody Allen's new film Midnight in Paris will open the Cannes film festival in May. The romantic comedy, which was shot in Paris last year, stars Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody and, perhaps more surprisingly, French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. The Cannes film festival starts on May 11.
